Barcelona interested in a Coutinho-Mbappe swap deal with PSG
Barcelona are reportedly interested to ship Coutinho off to PSG if they manage to acquire the services of Kylian Mbappe. With Coutinho failing to impress this season, the Blaugrana are interested in bringing one of the hottest properties in world football to Camp Nou. If this happens, it will surely be one of the biggest transfers in modern football. Details follow.
Are PSG likely to accept this deal?
Considering the form Kylian Mbappe is in, it does not seem like it will be an easy job luring him away from the French capital. He has been unstoppable this season, scoring and assisting in huge numbers for the French giants. It will only take an offer comprising of Coutinho and a large sum of money for Barcelona to get his signature.
Barcelona will gain if the deal happens
Barcelona will surely gain if Mbappe is brought into their ranks, as he is much better than Coutinho at the moment, and the Brazilian seems to have already stunted at Barcelona. With his immaculate speed, he will add a certain flair to Barcelona's attack coupled with compatriot Dembele. With Messi and Suarez aging, it will be a blessing for Barca if the deal happens.
Mbappe is is fierce form at the moment
In 2018-19, the French sensation has managed to score 13 goals in 12 league appearances already, whereas, he managed 13 goals from 27 league appearances last season. He also has three goals from six Champions League appearances this term, taking his total goals tally to 13 from a mere 23 appearances. In 28 appearances for his national side, the 20-year-old boasts of 10 goals.
Coutinho going through a rough phase presently
£142 million was what Barcelona spent for the Brazilian megastar in 2017, but his form has massively dropped this season, and he's scored only five goals so far. Barcelona fans have also vocally sounded their disapproval, instead preferring Ousmane Dembele as a starting XI member. If he joins PSG, Coutinho could also be reunited with compatriot Neymar. Only time will tell what's in store for him.
