Barca survive Granada scare in Copa del Rey: Records broken
Barcelona survived a major scare to progress into the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey. Ronald Koeman's side had trailed 2-0 until the 88th minute but changed the complexion of the game from there on. After going into extra time at 2-2, Barca gained confidence to seal the match 5-3. They had 36 attempts at Granada's goal in the match. Here are the details.
How did the match pan out?
Kenedy and Roberto Soldado scored in either halves to give Granada a 2-0 lead. Things looked good for the hosts until Antoine Griezmann and Jordi Alba got Barca back on track. In the 100th minute, Griezmann made it 3-2, before Fede Vico scored a penalty. Frenkie de Jong made it 4-3 as Alba netted his second moments later to win the match.

As per Opta, Barcelona, who attempted 36 shots against Granada (20 shots on target), registered their most in a single game in all competitions since at least 2013-14. Griezmann was involved in four goals in the same game for Barca (G2 A2). This was the first time he achieved this mark for the club.
Griezmann continues to make merry
Griezmann has been in prime form of late and has registered six goals and seven assists in his last nine games. The former Atletico Madrid star has raced to 12 goals in all competitions this season. He now has 27 goals in 77 matches for Barcelona since joining the club in 2019.
Barca join Sevilla and Levante in the semis
Barca have joined the likes of Sevilla and Levante in the Copa del Rey semi-finals. Meanwhile, Real Betis face Athletic Club in the final last-eight tie later tonight. Notably, Barcelona reached six consecutive Copa del Rey finals between 2014 and 2019 - winning four of those. However, they were beaten by Athletic Club at the quarter-final stage last season.
