The Bangladesh team is currently in top form, having recently secured a historic series victory over Pakistan. This marked their first Test series win on Pakistani soil. Bangladesh claimed a 10-wicket win in the series opener before winning the 2nd Test. During their practice session in Chennai, the batters took on the spin challenge. Meanwhile, spinners familiarized themselves with the pitch conditions.

The Bangladesh team, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, arrived in Chennai on September 15. In a pre-departure press conference in Dhaka, Shanto highlighted the challenges of the upcoming series against India but expressed confidence after winning in Pakistan. "It will be a challenging series, but we have the extra confidence from the Pakistan series," he told ESPNcricinfo.
