Bangladesh beat Windies: Here are the records broken
Bangladesh pulled off a terrific chase as they triumphed two-time champions Windies by seven wickets in the match number 23 of the ICC World Cup 2019 at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton on Monday. This was Bangladesh's highest successful chase in the ODIs, while Windies have remained winless in their last three games of the tournament. Here're the records that were broken.
How did the match pan out?
Winning the toss, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza elected to field first. However, things didn't go their way as Windies piled up a huge total of 321/8, courtesy Shai Hope's brilliant 96, along with other big innings. In reply, it was an exquisite innings by all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, along with Liton's explosive knock that sealed the game.
Windies register highest partnership against Bangladesh in World Cup
The 116-run stand for the second wicket between opener Evin Lewis and wicket-keeper batsman Hope was the highest stand for Windies for any wicket against Bangladesh in World Cup. They went past the previous stand of 81, between Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan, in 2007.

Shimron Hetmyer hits third-fastest World Cup half-century for Windies
Shimron Hetmyer scored a half-century off just 25 deliveries, which was also the third-highest by a West Indian in the World Cup. The record for the fastest is held by Kieron Pollard, who scripted it in 23 balls, against the Netherlands in 2011. This is also the joint-fastest half-century of this World Cup, along with Australia's Alex Carey.
Shakib Al Hasan takes least matches for ODI double
Bangladesh's star all-rounder Shakib reached 6,000-run mark in the ODIs during this tie. He took 190 innings to reach the landmark, while he took 199 matches to claim 250 wickets. Overall, he has taken 202 ODIs to reach both the landmarks, which is the least, as he goes past Shahid Afridi's record of 294 ODIs.

Shakib fourth batsman to score four consecutive World Cup half-centuries
Shakib scripted another record when he became the fourth batsman to score four consecutive half-centuries in the World Cup, in the opening four innings. He now shares the record with Navjot Sidhu (1987), Sachin Tendulkar (1996) and Graeme Smith (2007).
Shakib scripts a couple of records with a century
Shakib is now the fourth Bangladeshi batsman to score consecutive ODI centuries after Shahriar (2006), Mahmudullah (2015) and Tamim Iqbal (2015). Also with the ton, he became the batsman to score most runs for Bangladesh in a single edition of the World Cup. In the league matches itself, Shakib has has gone past Mahmudullah's 365-run mark in 2015.
