Injured Shakib to miss out on action for three months
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to miss cricket for at least three months. The senior member of the side had to undergo an emergency procedure in order to drain the pus in his hand, caused due to an infection. He underwent a surgery, but will need to have another one. Here is more on Shakib's situation.
Shakib's infection spotted after he arrived in Dhaka
Shakib, recently, played a few matches for Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2018, but had to leave for Dhaka after his injury aggravated. He had a fractured finger and will need to get an operation done on the same to overcome the injury. Meanwhile, according to a report in ESPN, Shakib's infection on the finger was spotted after he arrived in Dhaka.
Infection had spread till Shakib's wrist
"The moment I arrived in the hospital, the doctors told me that I have to get the pus out as soon as possible," Shakib said to Bangladesh media outlet Prothom Alo. He the added that, "Any delay would put me in great danger as the infection spread till my wrist. If I had waited another few days, my wrist would have become disabled."

Shakib injured his finger, earlier this year, in the ODI tri-series final in Mirpur. He had to miss out the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka. He returned for the Nidahas Trophy and played, even though he was in pain. The all-rounder spotted swelling around his little finger in the Asia Cup. One of the consulting doctors suggested it might be an infection.

He also confirmed that the reason behind him playing in the Asia Cup was because of the physio claimed that his injury won't be dangerous. But it didn't turn out that way and luckily he got the surgery done in time.
