Coronavirus outbreak: Bangladesh's final leg of Pakistan tour postponed
The upcoming ODI and Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The two cricket boards made a unanimous decision to defer the matches, which were initially scheduled to be played in April. Karachi was due to host a one-off ODI on April 1 and the second Test from April 5 to 9. Here is more.
Bangladesh had to visit Pakistan for the final leg
The recently concluded tour of Bangladesh was split across legs. They played three T20Is from January 24 to 27 and were defeated 0-2 to Pakistan. Bangladesh's next assignment was concluded with a crushing defeat to Pakistan in the first Test by an innings and 44 runs. The final leg was set to begin with the only ODI, followed by the second Test.
PSL continues to run despite coronavirus scare
While a number of cricket events are either being suspended or deferred, the ongoing Pakistan Super League has held matches after seeking permission from the government. The games are being played behind closed doors in the wake of novel coronavirus. Although over a dozen foreign players left the PSL midway, the board allowed the franchises to rope in local players as replacements.

A number of bilateral series around the world got suspended
The domestic Pakistan Cup, featuring six provincial teams, has also been postponed. The tournament was scheduled to commence from March 25 with matches played in Karachi, Multan, Lahore and Faisalabad. While the first ODI between India and South Africa was washed out, the rest of the ODI series was called off. Meanwhile, the Australia vs New Zealand ODI series was also abandoned.
The 13th IPL edition has been deferred
The IPL also faced the wrath of the outburst as the upcoming edition has been postponed from March 29 to April 15. The BCCI on Saturday discussed the option of conducting a curtailed 2020 season with the eight franchise owners. "We met the owners to tell them how it can happen. It is just postponed presently," the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said.
