2022 Badminton Asia Championships: PV Sindhu storms into semi-finals
Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu outclassed China's He Bing Jiao in the quarter-finals of the Badminton Asia Championships at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex. The World No. 7 trumped Bing Jao 21-9, 13-21, 21-19, in a match that lasted an hour and 16 minutes. Sindhu will face the number one seed Akane Yamaguchi in the semi-finals. Here are more details.

In the round of 32, Sindhu beat Taiwan's Pai Yu Po in a well-fought 18-21, 27-25, 21-9. Sindhu eased her way past Singapore's Yue Yann Jaslyn Hooi in the round of 16. She won in straight games 21-16, 21-16. In the quarters, Sindhu overcame He Bing Jiao 21-9, 13-21, 21-19. She now holds an 8-9 win-loss record over the latter.
Sindhu assured of a bronze medal
Sindhu's progression into the semis has assured her a bronze medal in the ongoing Asian Badminton Championships. Notably, it would be her second medal in the tournament, having won a bronze back in 2014. Sindhu has had a good run heading into this tourney. She finished third at the Korea Open prior to which she emerged as the winner at the Swiss Open.
