CWG 2018: Babita Phogat settles for silver
Defending champion Babita Phogat (53kg) settled for a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games after being out-maneuvered by Canada's Diana Weicker in the summit clash in Gold Coast today. Babita, who claimed silver in the 2010 edition before gold in Glasgow, failed to break through her rival's defenses, going down 2-5 in the contest. Her medal opened India's account in wrestling competition of Games.

President Ram Nath Kovind also congratulated Babita on winning silver. "Congratulations to Babita Kumari for winning a SILVER in Women's Freestyle 53Kg Wrestling (Nordic System). India's first wrestling medal at #GC2018#PresidentKovind," the office of President of India tweeted.
