Babar Azam, Shan Masood to attend PCB's strategic workshop
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has organized a day-long workshop, named the "Strategic Connection Camp," to discuss the future of Pakistan cricket. The event is set to take place at a local hotel in Lahore on Monday. Captains Babar Azam and Shan Masood will be among the senior players attending this crucial meeting. Other attendees include Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Rizwan, Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha, Shadab Khan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
PCB's strategic workshop: Aims and objectives
The primary objective of the "Strategic Connection Camp" is to identify crucial issues impacting Pakistan cricket and devise a strategic plan for its improvement. "We aim to foster open dialogue, and collectively agree on a strategic path forward to successfully reshape Pakistan cricket," PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi stated as per PTI. He emphasized that this camp is crucial in unifying their approach toward restoring Pakistan cricket's former glory.
Coaching staff and specialists to join PCB's strategic workshop
The meeting will include national coaches Jason Gillespie, and Gary Kirsten, assistant coach Azhar Mahmood, and high-performance expert David Reid. Test captain Shan Masood stated the session will focus on setting performance targets, developing player programs, and enhancing grassroots cricket strategies. Gillespie expressed optimism about the meeting's potential benefits while Kirsten emphasized refining their approach to white-ball cricket.
PCB leadership and national selectors to attend workshop
In addition to the players and coaches, the PCB leadership group and national selectors will also participate in the meeting. This is not an unprecedented move by the PCB as similar meetings have been conducted in the past under previous chairmen. These meetings aim to pinpoint major challenges in Pakistan cricket and agree on a strategic way forward.
