In the recently concluded Test series versus the Tigers, Babar posted scores worth 0, 22, 33 and 11, accumulating 64 runs at an average of 16. Babar's last score above 50 was a commendable 161 against New Zealand at home in December 2022. Babar's Test average has plummeted down to 44.51.

It must be noted that Babar had a forgettable time in Tests in 2023 as well. According to ESPNcricinfo, he featured in five Tests last year and could only manage 202 runs at 22.66.
