Khan, who had received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to participate in CPL 2024, was retained by the Guyana Amazon Warriors for this season.
However, his performance in the team's opening match of the season was less than stellar.
He initially struggled at the crease, scoring just five runs off his first seven deliveries before hitting a boundary off Shamar Springer to gain some momentum.

Springer retaliated with a bouncer, which Khan attempted to pull but missed entirely.
He then collapsed on the ground with his bat hitting the stumps, leading to his dismissal. He scored nine runs off nine balls.
Despite this setback and losing four wickets for a total of 77 runs in the 12th over of their chase, the Guyana Amazon Warriors managed a terrific win in the match.
