#IndiaInAustralia: Run-machine Kohli achieves this record in overseas Tests
Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli's tryst with records have continued. Kohli is the top most runs scorer of 2018 and in the ongoing third Test against Australia at the MCG, he went past the legendary Rahul Dravid in a special record. Here is more on the Indian captain who scored 82 in the first innings.
Kohli goes past Dravid in this special feat
The 30-year-old Kohli overtook Dravid on the list of top scorers for India in Test matches away from home in any calendar year. Dravid had gone on to amass 1,137 runs from 11 matches in 2002. And now Kohli has 1,138 runs from 11 away matches this year. He was superb in South Africa and England and has continued his form against Australia.
Kohli can go past Vivian Richards, Graeme Smith
Besides Kohli and Dravid, former India player Mohinder Amarnath (1,065) is the only Indian to have achieved 1,000+ away runs in a calendar year. Meanwhile, Kohli can become the highest runs scorer outside home in the world. He needs 75 runs to go past record-holder Graeme Smith (1,212). West Indian legend Viv Richards (1,154) is the only other player above Kohli.
