Pant scripts record for most catches in a Test series
Pant picked one catch in Australia's first innings in the third Test. And this was enough for him to script a new feat. He now has the most number of catches by an Indian keeper in a Test series. Pant has a total of 18 catches to his name in this series and there are still three more innings left to play against Aussies.
Pant surpasses two Indian legends
Pant went past Indian legends Syed Kirmani and MS Dhoni for the most number of catches by an Indian keeper in a Test series. Both these players had registered 17 catches. Kirmani had achieved the feat against Pakistan and Dhoni recorded the same against England.
Pant has been pivotal for India in this series
This Test series is becoming a crucial one for Pant. He has given a decent account of himself with the bat as well. He has contributed in the middle order with some decent knocks. His scores read 25, 28, 36, 30 and 39. Pant is touted to be the next big thing for Indian cricket. He is hitting the right chords at the moment.
