Pujara is fourth highest runs scorer in Tests this year
Pujara climbed up to the fourth position in terms of runs scored by batsmen in 2018 in Test cricket. He has amassed a total of 837 runs and is only behind Kohli, Kusal Mendis and Joe Root. Pujara also struck his third century this year. He had earlier scored 123 in Adelaide and now he managed his second ton of the series.
Pujara surpasses Dada and joins elite company
Pujara needs another 16 to go past legend Kapil Dev and be the 11th highest Test runs scorer for India. Pujara has 5,233 runs at the moment. The senior cricketer surpassed Sourav Ganguly (16) in terms of Test centuries. He equalled the likes of Dilip Vengsarkar and VVS Laxman in terms of centuries scored (17). He is the joint-seventh highest centurion for India.
Pujara notches fourth career ton versus Australia
This century was Pujara's fourth ton in SENA countries in his career. His average in Australia is a staggering 48.09. He is currently the leading runs scorer of this series as well (328). This was also his fourth century against Australia (home and away) in Test cricket. He has two centuries against the Aussies at their own backyard.
