#IndiaInAustralia: Fans rip apart this Aussie commentator for racist remarks
Former Australian cricketer turned commentator Kerry O'Keefe crossed the line with a distasteful remark on Indian batsman Mayank Agarwal. The incident occurred in the ongoing third Test match between Australia and India. While doing commentary for Fox Sports, Kerry jumped the gun while ridiculing Mayank's achievement in domestic cricket. The Aussie was ripped apart by fans on Twitter.
What did O'Keefe say?
O'Keefe was commentating alongside legend Mark Waugh for Fox Sports. Mayank went on to score a defining 76 runs on debut in Day one of the Boxing Day Test. O'Keefe ridiculed Mayank, who had scored 304* once in domestic cricket. The Aussie said that the knock had come against "waiters". Meanwhile, Waugh said that Mayank's 50+ average in domestic cricket is like 40 elsewhere.
Mayank notches valiant 76 on debut
Mayank registered eight fours and a six on Wednesday at the MCG. With this knock, he notched the highest-ever score by an Indian batsman on debut in Australia. He added 40 runs for the first wicket alongside Hanuma Vihari. Mayank then stitched another 83 runs for the second wicket with the in-form Cheteshwar Pujara. India managed to get to 215/2 at stumps.
