Injury cuts short Nadal's Australian Open
Nadal was considered favorite to lift the title come this weekend, but is now heading back home injured. He wriggled through pain throughout his quarterfinal clash against Croatian, Marin Cilic and had to forfeit the match. This is only the second time in 264 Grand Slam matches that Nadal had to retire. Coincidentally, last time was also in the quarter-finals of Australian Open.
Cilic enters Australian Open semi-finals
31-year-old, Nadal began the game is style taking the first set 6-3 with a commanding display. Cilic, however, hit back to beat Nadal 6-3. Nadal took the third set 7-6 Cilic claimed the 4th 6-2. Nadal's injury showed up in the fourth set and despite taking breaks for treatment, the Spaniard could not carry on in the deciding set.
Britian's Kyle Edmund enters semi-finals
Andy Murray may be absent from the Australian Open but Britian has something to cheer about as Kyle Edmund has advanced to the semi-final after a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over third seed Grigor Dimitrov. The world number 49 became the sixth British man to reach the semi-finals of a Grand Slam. This would be Edmund's first Grand Slam's semi-final .
