Australian legend Rod Marsh passes away at 74: Details here
Former Australia wicket-keeper Rod Marsh has passed away at 74 following a heart attack he suffered last week in Queensland. One of the greatest wicket-keepers, Marsh, represented Australia in 96 Tests between 1970 and 1984. Marsh had the most number of Test dismissals (355) while retiring from the format. A colossal figure in Australian cricket: Cummins
Remembering Marsh, the incumbent Australian Test skipper Pat Cummins said, "Rod was a colossal figure in Australian cricket who gave close to 50 years of incredible service to Australian cricket, from his debut in the Ashes series of 1970/71, through to his time as National Selector, when many of the current group of Australian men's players came into close contact with him."
A look at Marsh's international career
Marsh made his international debut in November 1970. In a career that spanned nearly 13 years, Marsh scored 3,633 runs from 96 Tests at an average of 26.51. The tally includes three centuries and 16 fifties. Marsh also had 1,225 runs to his name. As a wicket-keeper, he registered 355 dismissals in Tests and 124 dismissals in ODI cricket.
Fourth-most dismissals in Test cricket
Marsh still has the fourth-most dismissals by a wicket-keeper in Test cricket (355). He is only behind Mark Boucher (555), Adam Gilchrist (416), and Ian Healy (395) on the tally. He has recorded a maximum of six dismissals in a Test innings.

Marsh holds the record for registering 2,000 runs and 100 wicket-keeping dismissals. He also owns the double of 300 runs and 15 wicket-keeping dismissals in a Test series. Marsh registered 28 dismissals in the 1982/83 Ashes, the third-most by a wicket-keeper in a Test series. He has the sixth-most catches by a wicket-keeper in international cricket (463).
