Australia to host 2027 Rugby World Cup; final in Sydney

The 2027 Men's Rugby World Cup will take place in seven Australian cities, culminating in a grand finale at Sydney's Accor Stadium.
The 83,000-seat venue, also referred to as Sydney's Olympic Stadium, hosted the exciting 2003 final when England clinched the coveted title.
Apart from the final, Sydney will also host a few other key matches during this international sporting event.

Sydney to host multiple matches of 2027 Rugby World Cup
Sydney's Accor Stadium will not only host the final but also five pool games, two round-of-16 matches, two quarter-finals, both semi-finals, and the bronze final in this 24-team competition.
The remaining matches will be divided between other major Australian cities such as Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle, and Townsville.
Both Newcastle and Townsville will host four pool matches each.

The tournament is scheduled to start on October 1, 2027, and end with the final on November 13.
South Africa will enter as the defending champions as they defeated New Zealand in the 2023 final.
This will be the third instance of Australia hosting or co-hosting this prestigious event.
The tournament is expected to give a major boost to Australia's economy by pumping over AUD2 billion (£999 million).

Organizers expect the six-week tournament to draw 250,000 international visitors, who are expected to contribute AUD1.3 billion in direct expenditure in Australia.
