Australia attained the milestone against Scotland during the first T20I match between the two sides in Edinburg, Scotland on Wednesday. Chasing 155 runs, the Aussies led by the carnage of Travis Head, won by 7 wickets in just 9.4 overs. Head and Mitchell Marsh were the chief architects in the powerplay.

Australia became just the 2nd side to record 100-plus runs in the PP overs. They surpassed the 102/0 managed by South Africa vs West Indies (2023). West Indies 98/4 vs Sri Lanka, 2021, own the third-highest score in the PP overs (T20Is).
Head hits the joint-fastest T20I fifty for Australia
Head hit a total of 12 fours and five sixes in his knock of 80 from 25 balls. He struck at 320. As per ESPNcricinfo, Head's 17-ball fifty saw him smash the joint-fastest fifty for Australia. He matched the record of Marcus Stoinis, who smashed a half-century off 17 balls against Sri Lanka in 2022. This was Head's 4th fifty in T20Is.
Marsh makes his presence felt
Marsh powered his way as well, scoring a rampant 12-ball 39. He hit three sixes and five fours. Marsh struck at 325. It was a captain's knock from Marsh, who alongside Head swept aside the hosts.
