Women's Ashes: Australia optimistic about Perry's fitness amidst hip injury
What's the story
Australia's star Ellyse Perry suffered a hip injury during the Women's Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
The incident took place on the first day of the match when Perry landed heavily on her left hip while fielding.
However, despite the setback, there is hope for her fitness and return to bat on day two. Here's more.
Line-up change
Perry's injury alters batting order
After the injury, Perry couldn't return to the field for the rest of England's first innings.
Although eligible, she didn't bat in her regular No. 3 position when Australia came in for 22 overs under lights.
Instead, Annabel Sutherland came forward to join Phoebe Litchfield at the crease.
However, the Australian camp confirmed Perry would be assessed ahead of Day 2 hoping she would be fine to bat when required.

England maintain positivity despite batting collapse
Despite a disappointing performance with the bat, England remain positive.
Nat Sciver-Brunt, who top-scored with 51 as England were bowled out for 170, expressed satisfaction with their bowling strategy.
"Obviously, we would have liked a few more runs but I think with the ball, we did what we wanted to do," she said after the match.

King's performance continues to challenge England
Australia's leg-spinner Alana King remains a tough nut to crack for England.

Despite being dismissed by King twice in the series, Sciver-Brunt hailed her consistent areas and varied turn as reasons that make facing her difficult.
