Australia beat India in first T20I: Here're records broken
Australia sealed a last-over thriller to stun India in the first T20I in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. The win helped the Aussies to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Batting first, India managed a paltry score of 126/7, with KL Rahul scoring a fifty. In reply, the Aussies completed an interesting chase with Glenn Maxwell leading the way. Rahul, Kohli achieve impressive feats
KL Rahul top scored for India with a sublime 50 on return. This was his fifth career T20I fifty and a first against Australia. Rahul has amassed 832 runs in T20Is and needs another 168 to get to 1,000-run mark. Indian captain Virat Kohli (24) became the first player to score 500 runs against Australia in T20Is (512). He averages 56.88 against the Aussies.
Dhoni on either side of records
MS Dhoni (29*) recorded the third lowest strike-rate by an Indian batsman in a T20I match after facing at least 30 balls (78.38). Yuvraj Singh (43.75) holds this unwanted record against Pakistan in Dhaka, 2016. Dhoni hit just one six in this match. He now has 49 T20I sixes and equalled Dwayne Bravo. He surpassed Virat Kohli (48).

Nathan Coulter-Nile, Glenn Maxwell shine for Australia
Nathan Coulter-Nile (3/26) now has 33 career T20I wickets. He went past Mitchell Starc (31 wickets). This was also his best T20I figures against India. Dhoni has 1,577 career T20I runs and needs three more to get past New Zealand's Ross Taylor (1,579). Glenn Maxwell scored his sixth career T20I fifty. It was also his highest T20I score against India.
Some important numbers from the first T20I
India were 69/1 in 8.3, but from there on they managed just 57/6 in the remainder of the innings. India also managed just 46 runs for four wickets in the final 60 deliveries. Aaron Finch (0) scored his third career T20I duck. It was also his second against India. Jasprit Bumrah (3/16) now has 51 career T20I scalps.
How did the match pan out?
India lost Rohit Sharma early, but Kohli and Rahul added a solid 55-run stand. From there on India lost the way and they lost a flurry of wickets. In reply, Australia lost two quick wickets, but Maxwell and D'Arcy Short played intelligently. After their dismissal, India applied the pressure and took it right till the end, before Aussies clinched a great victory.
