Australia beat India in 1st T20I: Here're the records broken
India started their 2018-19 tour of Australia with a defeat. The visitors were beaten by Australia in the first T20I of the three-match series. Aussies posted a 158/4 in 17 overs in the rain-hit match that saw the D/L method come into play. India were set a revised target of 174 and could not get past the line. Here are the records broken.
Aussie trio put in a strong show
Glenn Maxwell (46) was the star of Aussie batting. He hit 4 sixes at a strike-rate of 191.67. Marcus Stoinis hit a 19-ball 33 to add 78-run stand with Maxi for the fourth wicket. Adam Zampa (2/22) was superb with the ball later on.

Shikhar Dhawan, who started the match with 572 T20I runs this year, is now the leading runs scorer in the format in 2018. He overcame Pakistan's Zaman (576) to climb top of the ladder. Australia's Aaron Finch moved into the top 5 in terms of the number of runs scored this year in T20Is. Finch has 503 runs and went past Colin Munro (500).
Dhawan hits his 6th T20I fifty of the year
Dhawan, who struck a fine 76, notched his 9th T20I career fifty. The southpaw also amassed his 6th T20I fifty of the year. This was also his first T20I fifty against Australia in 8 innings. His previous best was 42 at the MCG in 2016. Shikhar also went past 200 runs against the Aussies in T20Is.
Kuldeep 5th highest wicket-taker in 2018
Kuldeep Yadav is now the 5th highest wicket-taker in T20Is this year. Kuldeep (2/24) has 19 wickets to his name. He went past Yuzvendra Chahal (18). Kuldeep needs 4 wickets more to surpass 4th-placed Rashid Khan (22).
Krunal concedes 55 runs, Bumrah eyes Ashwin's record
Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya conceded 55 runs in his four-over spell. Pandya conceded the third most number of runs by an Indian in a T20I. This was also the third most runs conceded by a bowler in a T20I match in Australia. JB (1/21) now has 47 wickets in T20Is. He needs 6 more to overcome India's leading wicket-taker Ashwin (52) in T20Is.
Bumrah is the highest Indian wicket-taker against Australia
Rohit became the second highest run-scorer in T20Is for India against Australia. He has 290 runs now against the Aussies and is now only behind Virat Kohli (427). JB (1/21) is now the highest Indian wicket-taker against Australia. Glenn Maxwell hit 4 sixes in the match and has 67 maximums to his name. He is needs 12 more sixes to equal Warner and Finch.
