Rupinder scored six goals as India crushed Japan
India's Rupinder Pal Singh scored six goals as Asian Games gold medalists India, went on to beat the Japanese team 10-2 in the 2016 Asian Hockey Champions Trophy. Leading India for the match, Rupinder Singh scored goals in the 9th, 12th, 17th, 22nd, 46th, 47th minute with Ramandeep Singh scoring the opening goal in the second minute of the match.
Asian Champions Trophy kicked off in Malaysia
The 2016 edition of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy kicked off in Malaysia on 20 October 2016. On the first day, defending champions Pakistan met host team Malaysia in the opening game while, Asian Games gold medalist India faced Japan.
Malaysia stunned Pakistan in the opening game
Reigning champions Pakistan were handed a shocking 4-2 defeat by Malaysia in the opening game of Asian Hockey Champions Trophy. Taking a lead in the 13th minute, Malaysia's Faizal Saari scored two consecutive goals in the last minutes of the game to help his team win. The two Pakistani goals were scored by Muhammad Aleem Bilal by penalty corner strikes.
Rupinder confident after scoring six goals
After scoring six goals against Japan, Rudinper Singh said that his confidence keeps on growing as he keeps scoring goals. The 25 year old has scored 165 goals in 153 international matches.
