India vs Bangladesh: Records which might get broken tonight
India will enter the Asia Cup 2018 final as clear favorites against an injury-stricken Bangladesh. The Men in Blue led by stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma humiliated the Tigers earlier in the Super Four stage. Notably, there are several records which might get broken tonight in Dubai. Here we look at the same.
India looking to go unbeaten in Asia Cup 2018
India will be eager to bolster their record against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup. Out of 11 ODIs played by the two sides in the inter-continental tournament, India have pocketed a staggering 10. India would also want to go unbeaten in the 2018 edition of Asia Cup. They have played 5 matches and won on four occasions besides one tie that came against Afghanistan.
Three players in contention to end as top run-getters
Shikhar Dhawan leads the race of run scorers (323) and will look to end as the top scorer. Rohit is in contention, as well, with him amassing 269 runs already. Mushfiqur Rahim (297) has been the lone warrior for the Tigers. Interestingly, Jayasuriya had scored most runs in a single edition (378). This record can be broken by Dhawan, if he gets going.
India eyeing their 7th Asia Cup title
Rashid Khan is still the top wicket-taker with 10 wickets in the tournament, but Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman (8) can surpass him to finish as the best. Jasprit Bumrah (7) is in line, as well, to surpass Rashid and become the top performer of the tournament. If India win the Asia Cup 2018, this would be their seventh title, which in turn is a record.
Other crucial records which can be broken
Bhuvneshwar Kumar needs 4 wickets to surpass the 100-figure mark in the wickets column for India. He would be only the 12th Indian pacer to achieve the same. Mashrafe Mortaza needs one wicket to complete the 250-mark in ODIs. Soumya Sarkar needs 33 runs to complete 1,000-run mark in ODIs. India need one victory to compete 700 wins across all formats of cricket.
