Paris Olympics, men's javelin: Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem makes these records
Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem made history by handing his nation an Olympic gold medal for the first time in 40 years. Nadeem's monstrous throw of 92.97m in men's javelin at the 2024 Paris Olympics, secured him a gold medal at the State de France in Paris. Nadeem was ahead of 2020 Tokyo Olympics champion Neeraj Chopra, who took home silver with a throw of 89.45m.
First to register two 90m throws in Olympics javelin final
Nadeem became the first athlete to register two 90m throws in the final of an Olympics during Paris 2024. In addition to his 92.97m, Nadeem finished with a throw of 91.97m in his sixth attempt. As per Sportstar, Johannes Vetter of Germany is the only other javelin thrower who has surpassed the 90m mark more than once (4) in a final (Lucerne Diamond League).
