Arjun Tendulkar handed U-19 call-up for tour of Lanka
Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun has been making the right noise and now the player has been handed a call-up for India's U-19 squad which will tour Sri Lanka. The left-arm pacer had impressed in 2017 in the Cooch Behar Trophy. The 18-year-old Arjun has earlier played in the U-19 squad of Mumbai. Notably, he has been selected for 4-day matches and not ODIs.
Sri Lanka tour scheduled to take place in July
India U-19 team will play two 4-day matches and 5 ODIs against Lankans in July this year. The squad was announced on Thursday. The 4-day squad will be led by wicketkeeper-batsman Anuj Rawat, while ODI team will be skippered by Aryan Juyal of Uttar Pradesh.
Arjun delivered consistent performances last season
Arjun is an all-rounder and has been a part of Under-14 and Under-16 teams of Mumbai. He is known more for his pace-bowling and had taken a five-for against Railways last season to help Mumbai win the tie. His performances against Madhya Pradesh and Assam were also lauded. Arjun was also a part of the U-19 camp that took place in Dharamsala last week.
