Manchester United star Anthony Martial scolded by Solskjaer: Here's why
You can be a huge football star playing at one of the biggest clubs in the world, but that will not stop you from getting a verbal thrashing if you arrive late for training- no one has understood this message more clearly than Anthony Martial. The French forward was recently rebuked by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when he arrived late for training on Christmas.
Solskjaer left fuming, had some strong words for Martial
Manchester United's interim manager is believed to have been quite disappointed with Martial's attitude and told him clearly that he needs to improve in this sector. Martial had reportedly gone to Paris just before Christmas to visit his girlfriend and their son. Solskjaer was aware of the fact that it was not the first time that Martial had arrived late after visiting his family.
Martial earlier had a fall-out with Mourinho regarding the same
Martial and Mourinho were believed to have had a row when the Frenchman left United's pre-season tour to go visit his partner when they were having a child. Even the club management were not sure whether Mourinho had given Martial permission to leave. When asked about it, the former manager said that when someone is becoming a father, nobody has the right to stop him.
Nobody can question Martial's performance on the field
Discipline apart, Martial's performance has been quite outstanding this season, with the Frenchman scoring eight goals already. He has had a phenomenal shot accuracy, with 13 out of 14 shots this season being on target. Martial is linking up well with fellow players like Lingard, Rashford, and Pogba to create chances for United. However, he was not in the squad against Huddersfield.
United have been performing quite well under Solskjaer
Manchester United looked rejuvenated in the two matches under Solskjaer, pulling off spectacular moves and playing some brilliant passing football. United haven't played like this ever since Sir Alex left the club. Paul Pogba was also at his absolute best, scoring two stunning goals against Huddersfield. United currently stand sixth in the Premier League table with 32 points.
