Indian athlete Hima Das has been having an excellent year and the newest feather added to her cap is featuring on the cover of Vogue. The middle-distance runner is on the cover of the latest edition of this leading fashion magazine. Das is the lone sportswoman to feature in this edition, which has several other Bollywood personalities. Here is more on the same.

Das honored with Vogue's Sportswoman of the Year award
The young athlete has also pocketed the Sportswoman of the Year, which was awarded to her by the magazine. The magazine had held the Women of the Year Awards, last week. Das shared the award with Vinesh Phogat and Swapna Burman. Das has been honored for her rapid rise on-field. Notably, 2018 has been a remarkable year for the young athlete.
Hima a true performer
Hima won the gold medal at the U-20 World Championship in Finland. She added another three medals to her name at the Asian Games 2018. She was given a rousing welcome in Assam after her heroics in Indonesia.
Hima received the Arjuna award in September
Hima's excellent show, this year, saw her receiving the Arjuna award. She was among 20 athletes who were nominated for the prestigious award. "I didn't expect to win the Arjuna this year. I was thinking may be next year, I will be considered," said Hima after being nominated. She became the fifth sportsperson from Assam ever to be conferred with the Arjuna award.
Adidas signed Hima in September
In September, Hima was signed by Adidas. Hima will be receiving personalized spikes by the sportswear brand. She became the second Indian athlete, since the conclusion of Asian Games, for whom Adidas is sponsoring sportsgear.
