11-year-old, Anna Hursey to represent Wales at 2018 CWG
11-year-old table tennis player, Anna Hursey has been named in Wales' squad for the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia. Hursey is believed to be the youngest person to represent Wales in any sport at a senior level. The youngster, excited about her selection, said, "Hopefully I can show that I'm good at this sport and not just going there to have fun."

The 2018 Commonwealth Games will be hosted from 4th to 15th April in Gold Coast, Australia. The event will include 17 sports- 10 core sports, 7 selected by the host city. 70 nations are set to take part in the upcoming edition.
Who is Anna Hursey?
Anna Hursey is an 11-year-old table tennis player who represents Wales internationally. She took up table tennis at an age of 5 and won her first Welsh national under-11 championship at 6. At 7, Anna played her first international tournament for Wales in Barcelona. In 2017, she became the youngest player to represent Wales' senior table tennis team in a European Championship.
Style of play
Anna has an aggressive playing style attacking on both sides, but she is also able to control short play, and is excellent at chopping.
