Star West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell has created a new record in T20 cricket, becoming the fastest to score 9,000 runs.
The milestone was achieved during Match 27 of the DP World ILT20 on Saturday, February 1.
Representing Abu Dhabi Knight Riders against Gulf Giants, Russell reached the landmark after facing just 5,321 career deliveries.
He broke Glenn Maxwell's previous record by nearly 600 balls.

Russell's 9,000 runs in only 5,321 balls have left many big names behind. He bettered Glenn Maxwell, who took 5,915 balls to achieve the feat.
Others who follow him include AB de Villiers (5,985 balls), Kieron Pollard (5,988 balls), Chris Gayle (6,007 balls), and Alex Hales (6,175 balls).
This just goes on to show Russell's phenomenal batting ability in T20 cricket.
