A report in ESPN claimed that Darren Cahill, a former coach of Agassi, said he himself learnt more about the sport from the latter. After the spilt was announced, Agassi's coach stated that Djokovic never fully invested in the player-coach relationship.
Agassi-Djoker partnership didn't get the desired results
Agassi, who partnered with the Serb ahead of last year's French Open, sees the bond end just short of a year. Djokovic reached the quarters of the 2017 French Open and Wimbledon, but an elbow injury ruled him out for the rest of 2017. He lost in the fourth round of 2018 Australian Open before exiting early in Indian Wells and Miami Open.
In 2017 Djoker split with his team
After the Monte Carlo Masters in April 2017, Djokovic parted ways with long time coach Marian Vajda. He also bid goodbye to fitness specialist Gebhard Phil-Gritsch alongside physio Miljan Amanovic. He cited he needed fresh faces in his team and roped in Agassi.
