Dani Alves wants Neymar to go back to Barcelona
Brazilian superstar Neymar has been a subject of transfer speculation as he is being linked with a move to Barcelona as well as Manchester United. While he continues to offer his services to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for now, he does not see a bright future at the club. Meanwhile, his former Barcelona and PSG team-mate, Dani Alves, wants him to go back to Barcelona.
Alves feels Neymar belongs at Barcelona
Alves, who knows Neymar quite well, playing together for three teams to date, believes that his happiness lies with Barca. "When you are happy somewhere you try to go back to the place you were happy, and I think that's what he tried to do. I am sure if in the future he wishes to go back he will be able to," feels Alves.
Neymar is unhappy in Paris
As of now, Neymar is reportedly unhappy at PSG. He has not been able to make the desired impact with the French champions. Further, he has remained injury prone, as the club missed his services in a lot of important matches. Meanwhile, he tried to force a move back to Barcelona. However, there wasn't any concrete answer about it by the Spanish champions.
Barcelona and Real Madrid interested in Neymar's services
After expressing his desire to go back to Barcelona, the Catalonia-based club did try to sign him back. However, the club's financial stability compelled them to not acquire him. On the other hand, rivals Real Madrid too had expressed their interest in the Brazilian, but did not come up with any offer. The player's longevity was a cause of concern for Los Blancos..
I am here to give my life to PSG: Neymar
Meanwhile, following a 1-0 win over Bordeaux on Saturday, Neymar said that he was happy to help PSG, besides admitting that he was enjoying the love being given by the fans. "I am here to give my life to PSG. They are my team, my goal is to help my club, to continue to score goals," he said after the match.
Neymar happy to link up with Kylian Mbappe again
"The most important thing is that these goals are decisive, in tight matches, that's why I'm here. It's obviously a pleasure to link up with Kylian again. He came back with his smile and with his football talent," added Neymar.
Neymar might be close to joining Manchester United
Meanwhile, there were reports last week that Neymar could be close to joining Premier League giants Manchester United after agreeing on a record €230 million deal. While this could be more of a rumor rather than a concrete piece of news, the report came after Neymar was presumably unhappy with the kind of interest shown by Barcelona to sign him back.
Neymar to stay at PSG for now
While his future continues to hang in balance, it can be assumed that his spot at PSG is safe as long as he wishes to continue. As of now, he is certain to stay in Paris for at least a season more. His chances of transfer in January look bleak too as clubs are unlikely to invest heavily during this window.
