Australia won't be under pressure in semi-final clash: Brad Haddin
What's the story
Former Australian wicket-keeper Brad Haddin has predicted that the upcoming semi-final clash between India and Australia in the 2025 Champions Trophy will see all eyes on India.
He believes that Australia will not be under any pressure.
The two teams are set to meet again in a knockout match after their encounter in the ODI World Cup 2023 final.
Match prediction
Haddin sees Australia winning in Dubai
While featuring on the Willow Talk podcast, Haddin emphasized that India have dominated every match in Dubai thus far.
He feels that the conditions will suit India, but also added that "the semi-final is a knockout, a game that Australia pride themselves on."
"India are in the unique position that they've played every game at the same venue, there is no grass in the square, it is dry. It suits India," he said.
Pressure points
Haddin emphasizes the pressure on India
Further, Haddin stressed that the pressure is on India considering their recent performances under coach Gautam Gambhir.
He said, "I think there's a lot of pressure on India, with the way they've played their cricket since (coach) Gautam Gambhir has taken over."
The former Australian cricketer also predicted a huge backlash if India doesn't reach the Champions Trophy final.
Venue advantage
Haddin comments on India's venue advantage
Haddin also spoke on the ongoing debate of India's "advantage" in Dubai, considering they played all their Champions Trophy matches at one venue.
He opined that with India having settled in Dubai, where the pitch has been in their favor, all the pressure will be on them when they face Australia in the semi-final clash.
