Serie A 2018-19: 5 new signings to watch out for
The Serie A 2018-19 season starts this weekend along with La Liga in Spain. This time, there is plenty of buzz surrounding Italian football league due to some big signings made over the summer. All eyes will be on new man Cristiano Ronaldo. Besides Ronaldo, former Juventus star Gonzalo Higuain will grab attention as well. Here we analyze the same.
Gonzalo Higuain- AC Milan
The former Real Madrid, Napoli and Juventus striker is set to ply his trades in Milan. With Ronaldo's arrival in Turin, Higuain was forced to leave. Higuain has arrived on a one-year loan deal with an option to be permanent next season. The celebrated striker scored 55 goals in two seasons at Juventus. He has scored 111 Serie A goals in five seasons.
Leonardo Bonucci- Juventus
The Italian central defender is regarded as one of the best in the world. Bonucci sees himself back to Juventus after just one year at Milan. He had spent 7 years at Juventus and could, once again, be the commanding force in defense. Last season he made 51 appearances for Milan and was sturdy in his approach. Now it's time for Juventus to benefit.
Javier Pastore- Roma
The Argentine attacking mid-fielder joined Roma this season from Paris Saint-Germain. The 29-year-old has experience in Serie A after having played for Palermo for two seasons. He spent 7 seasons at PSG and amassed 265 appearances. Pastore scored 45 goals for the French champions besides making 59 assists across all competitions. The play-maker will add vitality as well as bolster the mid-field.
Radja Nainggolan- Inter Milan
The Belgium international left Roma to join Inter Milan this summer. The 30-year-old is a star-studded mid-fielder with commanding displays over the seasons. He made 203 appearances for Roma and scored 33 times. His experience in Serie A will be of massive help for Inter. Radja will unite with former Roma boss Luciano Spalletti, under whom he had his best season in 2016-17.
