FIFA World Cup 2018: Uruguay vs France- Match Preview
Heavyweights Uruguay and France, will battle for a spot in the last four when they face each other, tomorrow, at the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2018. Uruguay have won all their matches so far and have been solid defensively. France's attack will look to cause problems after having put four goals past Argentina. Here is the pre-match report.
Cavani set to miss out for Uruguay
South American giants Uruguay have been dealt a severe blow ahead of their match against France with striker Edinson Cavani likely to miss the game. The forward has been in tremendous form. He has netted three goals so far, including a brace against Portugal. The player missed training and is reported to be still receiving treatment after he suffered a calf injury.
Uruguay need to be tactically smart
Uruguay will be looking to get their tactics spot on against a French team that hold the cards in all areas of the pitch. The South Americans have conceded just one goal in four games so far and will build around their defense. All eyes will now be on Luis Suarez, who is likely to feature as the lone striker.
France aiming to be strong with valiant attack
Kylian Mbappe showed why he is the next superstar. If the 19-year-old can keep up the pace and skills to surge past the Uruguayan defense, France will believe in making a progress. The presence of Antoine Griezmann is a strong attribute, as well. A lot of their pressure will be on France's three-man mid-field to dictate the play.
Views from both camps
Luis Suarez has stated that although Uruguay have played without Cavani in the Qualifiers, the scenario would be different against France. He also added that the side has a really good defense line-up to control someone like Mbappe. French manager Didier Deschamps has stated that it doesn't matter if Cavani plays or not as Uruguay are a dangerous entity.
