Argentina, Portugal and Spain have already been ousted and Brazil will look to avoid similar fate. Mexico would definitely provide a stern challenge to the five-time winners. Here is the pre-match report.
Team news and selection
Brazilian left-back Marcelo is set to miss out in the starting XI after suffering from back spasms against Serbia. However, he might be available from the bench. Fagner could start at right-back despite Danilo being fit. Mexico will miss key center-back Hector Moreno, who is suspended for the game after accumulating two yellow cards. Hugo Ayala could replace him in the side.
Brazil need to step up their game
Brazil topped their group, but couldn't quite get the performances expected out of them. They will need to step up their game in order to beat Mexicans, who are keen to break the round of 16 jinx. Neymar had suffered broken foot in February and coach claimed that he is now ready as he needed a few games to get back to shape. Mexico coach Juan Carlos Osorio has stated that Brazil have a lot of attacking options. Further, he picked Philippe Coutinho as the best amongst all.
