#GamingBytes: PUBG Mobile's latest update to bring interesting cosmetic changes
PUBG Mobile will be getting a new update for Android and iOS this week, although no fixed date has been announced till now. The detailed patch notes will be updated by Tencent soon, but the game is expected to bring a host of new cosmetics. This is in line with Tencent's partnership with BAPE, or Bathing Ape, a Japanese streetwear brand, for PUBG Mobile.
Time to change your avatar appearance
The collaboration with BAPE will see new items being introduced in this 0.8.5 update. These cosmetic changes will introduce a BAPE frying pan, which is a legendary PUBG item, a shark hoodie and several more branded accessories as well as other items. It remains to be seen if the new skins have to be purchased through special rewards or PUBG BP, the in-game currency.
A new collaboration, should they choose to accept it
Tencent's collaboration with BAPE marks its second such partnership, the first being with 'Mission Impossible: Fallout'. The previous partnership allows gamers to access various unique things from 'Mission Impossible', including the iconic music and Ethan Hunt's (Tom Cruise's character) costume. However, these costumes can only be traded using a specific reward system in-game. There's no confirmation if this partnership would follow the same.
What do these changes mean for PUBG?
The new update promises to fix the performance issues of the previous update, besides the new additions. PUBG Mobile dominates in Asian and Chinese markets by delivering an excellent experience on Android. Tencent has ensured the gameplay is smooth even on low-end Android devices. Tencent wants to keep the momentum going by introducing regular updates and improving gameplay, visually and through the seasonal events.
