Alexis Sanchez injures himself after colliding with linesman
Manchester United Alexis Sanchez has injured himself again, this time during his warm-up during the match between United and PSG at Old Trafford. United will have serious problems to deal with if Sanchez does not recuperate by Monday for their FA Cup match against Chelsea, as Martial and Lingard are also doubtful. Sanchez reportedly injured himself by colliding with a linesman during the match.
Sanchez's career at United has not been fruitful at all
When Sanchez signed for United, he became the highest-paid player in the Premier League. However, his career with the Red Devils has hardly been fruitful, with the Chilean forward suffering from one injury after another, and hardly managing to score goals. Earlier when Solskjaer took over from Mourinho, Sanchez was suffering from a hamstring injury and was out of action for long.
United suddenly have numerous concerns to deal with
All was going well for Solskjaer's United before the PSG match. However, since then, things have taken a turn and United now will not see Paul Pogba playing in the next leg in Paris due to a red card, while Martial and Lingard are now injured. Martial is suffering from a groin injury while Lingard strained his left hamstring during the match.
Sanchez's million dollar goals for Man United
Sanchez has hardly repaid United with performances considering the amount of money he is paid. The Chilean, who is paid £25 million a year, has scored just four goals in his first year at the club. This means each one of his goals has cost United around £6 million. Solskjaer has now said it is upto Sanchez to perform and he cannot be helped.
Sanchez had earlier spoken of Mourinho's tactics hindering his game
It should be noted that Sanchez's poor form cannot be blamed on him alone, as former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho's tactics could also have been a factor. Sanchez himself earlier admitted that Mourinho wanted him to take a more defensive approach and that prevented him from going forward to create attacking chances. However, it is now about time he finds his form back.
