Serena welcomed back to tennis by husband Ohanian in movie-style
Serena Williams is set to return to tennis, less than six months after giving birth to her daughter. The 36-year-old, who will play her first singles after the 2017 Australian Open at the Indian Wells, was in for a surprise. Her husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian celebrated her return with billboards that read, "Greatest Momma of All Time." Here's more on this.
Serena in 2017- Australian Open, pregnancy, and child birth
Serena Williams began her 2017 tennis season by winning the Australian Open. She broke the news of her pregnancy in April confirming that she was 8 weeks pregnant when she won the title. By winning Australian Open, she became the player (male/female) with most Grand Slam titles in Open Era. Serena gave birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. on 1 September 2017.
Alexis Ohanian's surprise for Serena
Borrowing idea from the Oscar-nominated movie "Three Billboards, Outside Ebbing Missouri," Ohanian had four giant billboards installed, featuring their daughter, on Serena's way to Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The first three billboards together spell out the message "Greatest Momma of All Time" and the fourth billboard reads the acronym: "Serena Williams - G.M.O.A.T - Alexis Jr + Sr."
Serena overwhelmed
Bowled over by her partner's gesture, Serena wrote in reply to Ohanian's post on Instagram, "Literally am crying. This is so sweet. I love you."
