Ousmane Dembele's agent rubbishes rumors of Neymar swap at Barcelona
French footballer Ousmane Dembele, who was linked with a move away from Barcelona to French champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), is likely to stay put at Camp Nou. Dembele's agent Moussa Sissoko has confirmed that the player is currently staying put at Barca, which means he is unlikely to be a part of the Neymar swap deal. Here's more.
Dembele, a possible swap deal option after Coutinho refusal
Dembele, meanwhile, was not the initial choice of the swap deal, but it was Philippe Coutinho instead. However, the latter refused to be a part of the deal and chose to join German champions Bayern Munich on loan. As of now, Barcelona are strongly looking forward to bring back Neymar at Camp Nou, who is reportedly unhappy at the French capital.
Sissoko asserts Dembele has no plans to quit Barca
Sissoko firmly went on to clarify that Dembele was in no situation looking to consider a move away from Barca. He also further confirmed that both had planned the same course of action for months and are unlikely to deviate from it. "Ousmane feels perfectly well within the club and he remains in his determination to impose himself in the long term," said Sissoko.
Dembele convinced to stay in the largest European club: Sissoko
"Despite the solicitations of several great European clubs, Ousmane is convinced to be in the heart of the largest of them and everything is there to make it flourish," Sissoko added while speaking to Spanish media outlet Sport.
Dembélé confident of returning to action soon from injury
Sissoko added that while Dembele is looking forward to an adventure-filled season ahead, his current injury is temporarily a setback to his motivation for a beautiful season ahead. However, he has his day-to-day plan ready as he looks forward to the season. "But, this has no impact on his thirst for success and he is confident to return as soon as possible," continued Sissoko.
Sissoko 1,000% sure of Dembele staying at Barca
"Evolving in a club as prestigious and ambitious as FC Barcelona involves a competition that will advance and sublimate any player. In any case, it is the point of view rooted in Ousmane's mind," concluded Sissoko.
Hamstring injury halts a dream start to season for Dembele
The latest blow to Barcelona comes in the form of the French sensation. Dembele is currently nursing a hamstring injury and has been ruled out for a minimum of five weeks. The striker is an important part of Barca's gameplay. Notably, he scored 14 goals in 42 appearances for the side last season, as he is Ernesto Valverde's important asset.
Dembele should continue at Barca, but PSG not bad either
As of now, there seems to be no need for Dembele to move from Barca. So far, he has had a good time at the club, scoring 18 goals in 66 matches, as his performance has improved than his previous club stints. However, being a French player, he should not have any problem playing at PSG either and could be a big star there.
