Afif Hossain: News
Hailing from Khulna in Bangladesh, Afif Hossain is a product of the country's famed Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) sports institute. He became the youngest player to take five wickets in a T20 on his debut while he was playing for Rajshahi Kings in Bangladesh Premier League in 2016. An all-rounder by trade, Hossain scored a century in the very first innings he played in first-class cricket. An aggressive batsman and a more than useful off-break bowler, he is considered one of the most promising talents of Bangladeshi cricket. He took a hat-trick in the 2016-17 Dhaka Premier Division League. Hossain excelled in U-19 cricket as well; he was the vice-captain of the U-19 team for the 2016 Asia Cup, and in the 2018 U-19 World Cup, he was the leading scorer for Bangladesh. In 2018, he made his international debut against Sri Lanka in a T20I. He was also part of the Bangladeshi cricket team that won the gold medal in the 2019 South Asian Games. Hossain made his ODI debut in 2020 against Zimbabwe.
