Aaron Finch, the Australian captain in the shorter formats, expressed his thoughts on his Indian counterpart Virat Kohli, before the two nations begin the T20I series. Australian cricket facing struggles after review
After Ethics Center criticized the culture Cricket Australia bred among its officials and players, it is going through a tumultuous phase. Australia's culture of sledging has been a part of their game for long, and it has been argued that this is a product of their "win at all costs mentality". However, Finch wants to rather play an assertive game, as per his interview.
Kohli had also expressed his opinion regarding sledging
Tensions are always a bit high when India and Australia meet on the cricket field. Kohli is someone who is not known for taking a step back, when challenged. Regarding sledging that might happen, the captain promised that Men in Blue will never be the ones to start it, but surely will 'retaliate' in equal measure if they are provoked.
Finch praises Kohli's passion on the field
Finch heaped praises during his interview on his Indian counterpart. "Virat plays the game that gets the best out of himself, and I think that at times, for him that's about being verbal for his team, and pumping them up and being right in the contest," said Finch. Finch applauded Kohli's passion on the field and said the competition will be fierce without negativity.
