IPL auctions: 8 uncapped players to keep an eye on
578 players will go under the hammer on 27th and 28th January. Of these, 360 are Indian players, including capped as well as uncapped. The ones who haven't represented India at the international level are the uncapped ones, but that does not mean, they are of lower pedigree. Ranji Trophy's top run scorer
Talk about red-hot form, Mayank Agarwal is on top of that list. The Karnataka lad is the highest run scorer in the Ranji Trophy, this season. Mayank roared into form after scoring an unbeaten 304 against Maharashtra and then followed it up with 179, 90, 133, 173 and 104. After 2 bad IPL seasons, Mayank is all geared up to prove his mettle.
Delhi's big hitting southpaw
Nitish Rana was one of the finds of the IPL in 2016, when he made his debut with Mumbai Indians. However, the Delhi lad had to wait towards the end of the tournament and played just 4 games. In the 2017 edition, he became a regular face scoring 333 runs at an average of 30.27. Definitely, a hot pick at the auction.
The man who won Vidarbha their maiden Ranji Trophy
One of the top performers in the Ranji Trophy this season, Rajneesh Gurbani is on the radar of several teams. He picked up 39 wickets in the tournament. The 24-year-old picked up a hat-trick in the final becoming the second bowler in the history of the tournament to do so. With a base price of Rs. 20 lakh, he could be a steal deal.
India's Under-19 captain
Not many rise to prominence at an age of 14 Prithvi Shaw did, after his mammoth 546 during an inter-school match to set a record. Now 18, Shaw is leading India at the ongoing ICC U-19 Word Cup in New Zealand and has already amassed 150 runs in 2 matches so far. 5 first-class hundreds in 9 matches are a testament to his pedigree.
India's Under-19 vice-captain
This right-handed batsman from Punjab might have played just two first-class games from Punjab but he has scored a ton in one of them and averages 61.25. Prithvi Shaw's deputy at the Under-19 World Cup, Shubman has scored two fifties in the tournament so far. The youngster was also named the best junior cricketer by the BCCI for two consecutive years.
The speedster who clocks 150 kph
Third Under-19 star on this list, Kamlesh Nagarkoti is definitely an India prospect and is the spearhead of the bowling attack of the junior team. This young land has serious pace and clocked 150 kph against Australia at the ongoing tournament. The youngster from Rajasthan has played 6 first-class matches and with Rajasthan Royals back in the fray, he could fancy his chances.
Cog in the wheel of the Mumbai Indians
The older of the Pandya brothers, Krunal has become a regular household name after his outstanding performances for the Mumbai Indians over the past few seasons. The all-rounder scored 243 runs and picked up 10 wickets in the last edition of the IPL. It will come as no surprise if Mumbai Indians decide to reunite the Pandya brothers and use the RTM card.
Baroda's young captain
Another big hitter from Baroda, Deepak Hooda has already set the IPL alight with his breathtaking performances. In 2016, the all-rounder was bought for a whopping Rs. 4.2 crore by the Sunrisers. Hooda has scored 222 runs and picked up 5 wickets in 27 matches since then. His Ranji trophy numbers are even better with scores of 75, 51 and 100 last year.
