Who is the best football manager this season?
3 seasons ago, Claudio Ranieri and Leicester City proved to us that football is all about tactical ability as the Italian masterminded the Foxes to Premier League glory. This season, too, we have seen some of the best tactics used by football's brightest coaches. But which manager has been the most dominant of them all? Here's our list.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane
Real Madrid had a horrendous start to their La Liga campaign but Zidane has pulled things back for the Spanish Giants. Ronaldo is back in form and Real Madrid have made it to the semi-finals of Champions League. While they might finish second or third (in the worst scenario) in La Liga, a third consecutive Champions League crown is in the reckoning for Zidane.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp
Liverpool have been fantastic this season under Jurgen Klopp. The German tactician added Mo Salah to his front three for a bargain price and then brought in Virgil van Dijk to fix Liverpool's defensive issues. Under him, Liverpool are third on the table and have scored 80 goals in the Premier League. They are also in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes
Nobody would have thought that they would see Jupp Heynckes back in action. The 72-year-old bid adieu to the sport after winning the historic treble with Bayern and also FIFA's coach of the year in 2013. However, he came out of retirement to lead the Bavarians to Bundesliga glory and he could make it better by winning the Champions League.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola
If there is one manager in football that every club wants to hire right now it has to Pep Guardiola. City have been the most rampant side in Europe under Pep. He led them to Premier League triumph and also guided them to the League cup. However, Champions League failure remains a blotch on his tactical abilities this season.
Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde
The best manager, according to us, has to be Barcelona's Ernesto Valverde. While the Catalans were ousted from the Champions League by a brilliant Roma team, they have managed to win the Copa Del Rey and are on course to win the La Liga title this season. What makes Valverde the best is that Barcelona have remain unbeaten in La Liga so far.
