IPL auction: 332 players set to go under the hammer
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 auction is all set to take place next Thursday in Kolkata. While 971 players had enrolled for the auction, it has been trimmed to 332, as the shortlisted players are all set to go under the hammer. Meanwhile, 24 new players have also been added to the shortened list. Here are further details.
73 spots to be contested for
It is to be noted that only 73 spots are up for grab in this auction, as the bidding war is going to be intense. As for the newly added players in the list, it includes Windies' Kesrick Williams, along with Australia's Daniel Christian and Adam Zampa, while Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim also makes it. Meanwhile, there are 19 capped Indian players in the list.
Players with highest base price
Following are the players with the top base price: Rs. 2 crore: Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood, Chris Lynn, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Dale Steyn, and Angelo Mathews. Rs. 1.5 crore: Robin Uthappa, Shaun Marsh, Kane Richardson, Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy, Chris Woakes, David Willey, Chris Morris, and Kyle Abbott. Rs. 1 crore: Tom Banton and Jaydev Unadkat.
