    Commonwealth Games: Indian men's team defeat Malaysia to enter semis

    What's the story

    Indian men's hockey team beat Malaysia 2-1 in a Pool B encounter at the ongoing 21st Commonwealth Games 2018 being held at the Gold Coast.

    The win ensured India an entry into the semi-finals.

    After a 2-2 draw against Pakistan, India overcame Wales 4-3 before seeing off Malaysia on Tuesday.

    India will play against England in their last pool B match.

    How did the match unfold?

    India went ahead early with a goal from Harmanpreet Singh goal in the third minute.

    Faizal Saari equalized for Malaysia in the 16th minute with a neat finish from a tight angle.

    Both the teams held on and tried forcing a winner before Harmanpreet once again scored in the 44th minute to hand India a victory.
