ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024: Check out the squads
The ninth edition of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup is scheduled to kick off on October 3 in the United Arab Emirates. The tournament will feature 10 teams, divided into two groups, competing in a total of 23 matches. The cities of Dubai and Sharjah have been selected as the venues for this global cricketing event. Let's take a look at the squads.
Group A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
Group A comprises Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The Australian team will be led by Alyssa Healy with Tahlia McGrath as her deputy. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the Indian side. Sophie Devine is set to lead New Zealand's squad while Fatima Sana will be at the helm for Pakistan. Chamari Athapaththu has been named as Sri Lanka's captain for the tournament.
Group B: South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Scotland
Group B includes South Africa, West Indies, England, Bangladesh and Scotland. Laura Wolvaardt will lead the South African team while Heather Knight has been appointed as England's captain. The West Indies team will be under the leadership of Hayley Matthews. Nigar Sultana Joty is set to captain Bangladesh's squad and Kathryn Bryce will lead Scotland in the tournament.
