Miami Open: Isner, Potro book semis spot in men's singles
Big-serving American John Isner moved into the semi-finals of the 2018 Miami Open after overcoming South Korea's Hyeon Chung 6-1, 6-4 in straight sets. The 14th seed finished with 13 aces in the match which took over just an hour. Isner, who earlier defeated 2nd seed Marin Cilic, faces Juan Martin del Potro next. The Argentine beat Raonic 5-7, 7-6, 7-6, in three hours.
Collins stuns veteran Venus in women's quarters
Danielle Collins wasn't star struck when she met her favourite player Venus Williams. She notched the biggest win of her career after seeing off the veteran star 6-2, 6-3 in straight sets. A special win against her idol has set her up with Jelena Ostapenko in the semi-final. The world number 93 became the first qualifier ever to reach the semi-final of Miami Open.
Fixtures and schedule
Victoria Azarenka takes on Sloane Stephens in the only match scheduled on Thursday in the singles event. The match is at 10:30 PM. Stephens will enter the top 10 WTA rankings once the tournament ends. Meanwhile, Azarenka plays her first semi-final in two years.
