Miami Open: Isner upsets second seed Cilic to reach quarters
American John Isner overcame Marin Cilic to progress into the quarter-finals of the 2018 Miami Open. 2014 US Open Champion Cilic was the highest ranked player left after Roger Federer's exit. Isner took the match in straight sets 7-6, 6-3 and will face Hyeon Chung next. The American hit 12 aces in a dominating performance which lasted one hour and 27 minutes.
Juan Martin del Potro's impressive run continues
Argentina's 5th seed Juan Martin del Potro continued his fine form to reach the last eight of the men's singles event. The Indian Wells winner beat 22nd seed Serbian Filip Krajinovic 6-4, 6-2 to advance. Juan was joined by 20th seed Milos Raonic, who beat Frenchman Jeremy Chardy 6-3, 6-4. Alexander Zverev thrashed Nick Kyrgios in straight sets.
Azarenka down Pliskova to set up a duel against Stephens
Victoria Azarenka has found form and momentum at the Miami Open as she reached the semis. The former world number 1 blasted past fifth seed Karolina Pliskova in a 7-5, 6-3 victory. Azarenka will now face Sloane Stephens, who brushed aside Angelique Kerber in the quarters. The 2017 US Open Champion thrashed Kerber 6-1, 6-2 in just over an one hour long encounter.
Women's singles fixtures and schedule
Jelena Ostapenko will be facing Elina Svitolina in a fierce quarter-final encounter on Tuesday at 10:30 PM. Meanwhile, the blockbuster battle between Azarenka and Stephens will take place in the evening at 7:30 PM.
