    32 teams are set to take part in the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, starting from June 14.

    A total of 736 players will be featuring in the coveted tournament.

    As teams gear up for the biggest football carnival, it's the overall contribution from the squad that will have a meaningful impact in bringing success.

    Let's look at squad statistics.

    English football

    England have 100% league representation

    England are the only team in which all 23 players players are from the national league (Premiere League). They have a 100% representation.

    Gareth Southgate's side is followed by Russia (21/23) and Saudi Arabia (20/23).

    The likes of Sweden and Senegal haven't picked even a single player from their domestic leagues.

    Belgium have selected only one player from the Belgian First Division A.

    2018 World Cup- The number games

    Germany's Thomas Muller goes into Russia with 10 World Cup goals to his name.

    Egypt goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary is the oldest player to feature in a World Cup squad. He is 45 years and 5 months old.

    The age difference between Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez and his Senegal counterpart Aliou Cisse is a whopping 29 years.

    Pep Guardiola's Manchester City see 16 of their players take part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Premier League champions are followed by Champions League winners Real Madrid (15). 124 players have England as their base followed by Spain (81).

    Feat

    Mascherano leads the chart with most WC appearances

    Argentina's player Javier Mascherano goes to Russia with most appearances in a World Cup (16).

    The player has featured in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups prior to this year's event. The former Liverpool and Barcelona player has featured in 143 overall matches for the south American giants.

    Rafa Marquez also has 16 appearances.

    Lionel Messi (15) and Mesut Ozil (14) follow suit.
